GUTHRIE CO.
(GUTHRIE CENTER) "? CEMETERY" - Reports that when you go East just outside of town there is an old cemetery that is said to have a headstone in the shape of of a chair the locals call "The Devil's Chair". It's said that anyone who dares sit in this chair will soon fall victim to an ill event.

HAMILTON CO.
(STRATFORD) "VEGOR'S CEMETERY" - Reports in this cemetery are endless and range from hearing women and children screaming, to Indian drums beating, also unexplained lights and ghostly figures roaming the hills.
This cemetery although now known as Vegors is over 150 years old, but in reality is much older, as it was originaaly the burial gounds of the "Wapekutah Sioux Tribe" until the white settlers came and removed the remains to claim the ground as their own. The desecration of the land is what is believed to be the main reason of the hauntings. The remains of the Sioux's originally buried there were taken and put into 5 mass graves around the edges of the cemetery by the white settlers.
(WEBSTER CITY) "HAMILTON COUNTY HOSPITAL" - Reports that it's haunted by the spirit of a med student who comitted suicide in the old surgery ward. Many of the patients and nursing staff have reported seeing a nurse is all white walking the halls and call lights have been switched on in empty rooms. Also there are reports of hearing babies cry when the nursery is empty and the heavy doors swinging open and closed when the area isn't being used and when nobody is in or around the area.

(GOODELL) "HICKORY GROVE" - Reports this cemetery and the field and woods across from it are haunted by the spirits of the children who were murdered when their teacher went mad, then killed himself in the creek down the road. The 1 room schoolhouse (demolished in 1999) had many extreme events repeatedly occure including walls and the old chalkboard always having the blood reappear after being cleaned and and ever present feeling of being watched and not welcome. The cemetery across from where the school was is where most of the children were buried and its said they haunt not only there but also the woods behind where the school sat. Also if you go into the cemetery at night there's a path that leads to the field behind there that will not be able to be seen in the daytime.

(ACKLEY) "HAZEL GREEN CEMETERY" - Reports that just South of town there's an old cemetery haunted by a lady who sits in a rocker holding an infant in the gazebo inside the cemetery.
(IOWA FALLS) "THOMPSON HALL DORMITORY" - Reports that this building and the cemetery across from it arew both haunted. Some believe the female figure seen in the cemetery is one of the original town benefactors. The residents of the dorm report hearing strange noises and when during holiday season the building is almost empty you can hear people walking around and lights flickering ect.
(NEW PROVIDENCE) "REECE PARK" - Reports being haunted by a young woman who killed herself there. It's said that her shadow will be seen walking into the corn field behind the park and that then you will hear her screams as she relives her death.

(MT. PLEASANT) "KENTUCKY RD. BRIDGE" - Reports being haunted by a teen girl who killed herself on her birthday. It's said that if you go out on that night you can see her shadow hanging off of the bridge there where she took her life.
(MT. PLEASANT) "MEDIUM SECURITY PRISON" - Reports that this building though now a prison was originally a mental institution before being converted. Many inmates and guard staff have reported seeing shadowy figures walking the hallways, Also there are several times when there will be strange noises, doors opening and slamming and loud crashes in the part of the building that isn't used anymore.

(PROTIVIN) "THE CREAMERY" - Reports being haunted by the 2 people who died in the fire that destroyed part of the original building. It's said that you will see them looking out the windows in the building and also hear unexplained sounds along with having objects more or turn on by themself.

(DAKOTA CITY) "HISTORICAL MUSEUM" - Reports being haunted by various ghost including 1 of the fisherman who died in the Des Moines River beside the building. It's said that many strange sounds are heard and that after hours there are shadowd seen walking through the building and lights turning on and off. Another story that is if on a calm day you walk up to the hanging sign and ask it yes and no questions it will swing right for YES answers and left for No.

(AMANA) "GEIST ECKE or "GHOST CORNER" - Reports that this area located on the sharp bend of the road between Middle and High Amana, is believed to be haunted by a variety of frightening spirits who have been witnessed many times by travler's there over the years. And all of the reports seem to be of white filmy apparitions being seen and of being touched by unseen persons.
(AMANA) "SPRAGUE CEMETERY" - Reports that a pale blue light can be seen hovering over the grave Mary Wright in the cemetery. It's said to appear during the final minutes of every years end. Mary died in 1854 at the age of 6, and the light has reportedly seen every since then at the listed time. Mary's grave is the only marker that still remains in this cemetery.
(AMANA) "AMANA CEMETERY" - Reports that there are some of the Sauk Indians buried here. And that at the times when the land was theirs there was an old tradition in which the children of the tribe would place pine boughs on the graves of the dead, and that on Christmas day their spirits would rise from their graves to collect the pine boughs left in their honor. To this day many people still report seeing several apparitions at this time of year within the cemetery.
(HOMESTEAD) "INDIAN DAM" - Reports that this area north of Homestead along the Iowa River was originally land belonging to the Sauk Indian Tribe. In May of 1868 a Troop of Union Soldiers (Troop #28) consisting of 201 soldiers, stumbled into the area and were killed and scalped after being ambushed by the Tribe who were protecting their land. Several people report that the area is haunted by the spirits of these soldiers as well as the Indians who died here. And it's said that the sounds of chanting and drums can be heard, along with sightings of apparitions. There have alsao been reports that these restless spirits have become violent to some of the people who visit here and physical attacks have occured here in some cases.
